But as he grew older and traveled the world, he found real heroes everywhere he went - and none of them had superpowers. ![]() ![]() Therefore Hippos Go Berserk is a later forgery, not actually by the great Boynton, and thus the entire edifice of scholarship built upon the assumption that Hippos Go Berserk is genuine needs to be demolished. If the version we have of Hippos Go Berserk were actually by Sandra Boynton, this inconsistency would never have occurred. So the final hippo is NOT alone, missing the other forty-four: He's with six hippos, and the seven of them are (perhaps) missing the other thirty-eight hippos. See it? See the problem? The six hippos who were quite distressed NEVER LEFT. One hippo, alone once more, misses the other forty-four. I draw your attention in particular to the point of the story where the Hippos have already gone berserk and are leaving the party. ![]() A close-minded critical establishment dominated by a line of Oxford and Cambridge Professors has refused to acknowledge that Hippos Go Berserk contains inconsistencies that the real Sandra Boynton would never have included in a work. ![]() I have evidence that Hippos Go Berserk, allegedly by Sandra Boynton, is likely a crude forgery that has duped generations of scholars. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more of this author’s books. Reading the author’s note at the end also made me appreciate those parts of the story more. It didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment though. What didn’t work for me: Parts of the story were a bit rushed or a little too convenient. Across the Winding River is heartbreaking, but beautiful and redemptive. I enjoyed all of the POVs equally, which is rare! I always appreciate WWII stories that have perspectives from both Germans and non-Germans. What worked for me: I loved the story, the characters, and the setting. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The more powerfully they're drawn to each other, the more strongly Sebastian must resist, and the more Leah must admit that some things in life-like love-can't be explained with numbers. In Hughes' memoir, I read as he observed how art in the form of theatre, dance, writing, folklore, music, and graphics helped snap portraits of the world during a time of social change. What is it about art that calms the soul and rejuvenates the mind? In times of unrest, art uncovers the truth and displays it with unwavering subtlety. ![]() ![]() ![]() After introducing the main tenets and examples of the six most common categories of fragmentary texts, the article discusses two theoretical frameworks for analysing such works: Joseph Frank's notion of the spatial form and Sharon Spencer's idea of the architectonic novel. Through their adventures at Hill House, Jackson shows how each individual is also at the mercy of the horrors that dwell within his or her own mind. At the start of the novel, a group of individuals with psychic sensitivities is recruited by anthropologist-and closet parapsychologist- Doctor Montague to spend a summer at the “evil” mansion, delving into the house’s terrifying mysteries as part of an experiment which Montague hopes will validate his research in the field of paranormal activity. A war exists at the heart of Shirley Jackson’s novel The Haunting of Hill House-a war between supernatural and psychological phenomena. ![]() |
